Cirrus Primary Academy Trust a data controller for the purposes of the Data Protection Act. We collect information about your child and may receive information about your child from any previous schools. We hold this personal data and use it to:
• Support your child’s teaching and learning;
• Monitor and report on your child’s progress;
• Provide appropriate pastoral care, and
• Assess how well the school is doing.
Telephone calls to and from the school are recorded for quality assurance, Data Protection and Child Safety purposes and we provide this information via our automated welcome message heard when calling the academy’s main phone number.
Provision of specific functions for which the Trust is responsible
This information includes contact details, national curriculum assessment results, attendance information and personal characteristics such as your child’s ethnic group, any special educational needs and relevant medical information. Attendance information is not collected as part of the Censuses for the Department for Education for those aged under 4 years.
We will not give out information about you to anyone outside the Trust without your consent unless the law and our rules allow us to.
We are required by law to pass some information about your child to the Local Authority and the Department for Education (DfE). If you want to see a copy of the information about your child that we hold and/or share, please contact the Head of School.
